San Antonio Commanders just announced some roster changes – all involving linemen.

Commanders add offensive lineman Dillon DeBoer and defensive lineman Ra’Zahn Howard. Both were with the team in training camp.

Commanders waived offensive lineman Mo Porter and defensive lineman Stefan Charles.

AAF honors Wolford, Gavin, Novak as players of the week

The Alliance of American Football (AAF) announced its players of the week for opening weekend.

From the league news release:

Offensive player of the week: Arizona QB John Wolford.

Wolford passed for 275 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions for a 132.9 passer rating in The Hotshots’ 38-22 win on Sunday at Sun Devil Stadium. Photo

Defensive player of the week: Orlando LB Terence Garvin.

Garvin led The Apollos to a 40-6 victory with a team-high 11 tackles and two interceptions — including a 51-yard interception return-touchdown. Garvin’s pick-six was the first defensive touchdown in league history. Photo

Special teams player of the week: Birmingham K Nick Novak.

Novak accounted for 12 points in the Iron’s 26-0 win, converting all four of his field goal attempts en route to Tim Lewis’ first win as a head coach. Photo

Linebacker Tyrone Holmes at Commanders training camp

Tyrone Holmes, the newest player on the San Antonio Commanders roster, took part in the team’s practice for the first time Wednesday.

Holmes is listed as a 6-foot-2, 253-pound linebacker from Montana and wears No. 45.

Training camp report: Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019

The weather was bright and sunny, but felt chilly at the beginning of practice with a temperature in the high 40s and a breeze. It was up to about 50 degrees when practice ended.

Players were in helmets and shoulder pads and there was some contact.
