Former UTSA receiver Josh Stewart announced he has signed with San Antonio of the Alliance of American Football (AAF).
Stewart made the announcement on his Twitter account. He is a 6-foot-4, 210-pound receiver from College Station Texas (A&M Consolidated High School).
As a senior at UTSA in 2017, he played in all 11 games and started nine. He caught 39 passes for a team-high 518 yards and three touchdowns.
His junior season in 2016, he played in 13 games and caught 36 passes for a school single-season record 682 yards and five touchdowns.
Stewart did not see action in his freshman and sophomore years at UTSA.
Incarnate Word punter Joseph Zema and Stewart are the first two players from San Antonio college programs to sign with Alliance San Antonio.
Happy to announce that I will be joining the @theaaf and playing in the same city that I played college ball! I appreciate everyone who has always been there supporting and cheering me on. It’s up from here 😈💰🏈 #ReturnOf80 #Loading #NextChapter pic.twitter.com/vIFgceomuo
